Thérèse Nzale-Kove

Thérèse Nzale-Kove is a civil society activist with over 30 years of experience advocating for women’s rights in the DRC, particularly to address sexual and gender-based violence. She currently serves as the Program Officer at Fonds pour les femmes Congolaises (FFC) managing their work on Women, Peace, and Security in Central Africa, including in Cameroon, the Central African Republic and the DRC, as well as other national projects focusing on women's and girls' economic empowerment, and sexual and reproductive health. She is a co-founder and active member of various feminist organizations and movements at both the national and international levels, including the Women's Synergy for Peace and Security, where she is a mediator and co-initiator working to enhance women's intervention capacity as a movement through advocacy missions and preventive diplomacy aimed at restoring peace in the DRC and the sub-region.

At the Security Council

Thérèse Nzale-Kove, Program Officer of Fonds pour les femmes congolaises, was invited to provide a civil society perspective and recommendations when the Security Council met to discuss the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in September 2024.
